Blocking pass

Motion test

There were multiple iterations of this action as we test to see what kind of mime our Mime was.  We decided that while his miming may look good to the audience, his miming ability is below average. In this shot, we cut from his brain to the real world were we see his mime ability through the eyes of the Waitress.

2nd blocking pass

1st blocking pass

This was a tricky shot as we wanted the Mime's face and hands to look like they were pressed against the screen. We simulated this by using a unique face and pressed his hands which were on sliders against a sheet of acrylic. Originally, we did not have his hands shake, but after the first pass, we added the shaking to show the strain. The squished fingerprints were enhanced in post-production.

Blocking/Pose test

Motion test

In this shot, we wanted a quick snap from upright to his head slammed on the table. To accomplish this, there are no frames in between to make the gag startling.  After a few passes, we decided that the final with have his head screwed down to the table as it wasn't lying flat with out. This caused the table to move with the head which was a happy accident.

LAV Reference

Responsible for animation and LAV.  Done to practice animating emotions through body language. Specifically, I wanted to express anger/frustration. This was also great practice for transitioning from one action to another and subtle movements during a brief pause.

Fire Multi-Plane Animation

Final Animation and Composite

Final Composite

Final Animation

This was the final project for an effects animation course. We were tasked with picking an element and animating it according to a style sheet that we created. Project done during Fall 2023.

This was animated over a green screen multiplane, which was beneficial because it separated the flame's two parts and made animation easier since wool roving sticks to itself. The yellow wool and stick were animated on the lower plane while the red-orange wool was animated on the top plane.

The flame was made out of wool roving, and the stick is made from medium-density fibreboard

Bird Down Shoot

Final Animation

2D Animatic

Responsible for all. A short animation used to practice squash and stretch animation. The bird's body and background were made out of construction paper, and the bird's eyes and the worm were made out of polymer clay.

Wash Cycle

This is one of the final shots of the character Roxi from the stop-motion short film "Wash Cycle," directed by Erika Totoro and produced by Lilianna Martinez and Dahlia Kressler. I am responsible for only the animation.

This shot was an interesting challenge as the camera was extremely zoomed in on the character. We used museum wax to stick the pupils and eyelids on the eyes. After every adjustment of these assets, it was necessary to check each frame after it was taken in HD, as it was too pixelized in the normal camera setting to see if there were bits of museum wax visible.
